ABOUT OUR GAME

Reformidant is a psychedelic 2D platformer where you face your fears to save your computer. Navigate byte-sized platforming challenges that gradually introduce more obstacles as the game continues.  Get through each screen-sized level to the goal as fast as you can! Learn how to compress your character to navigate through different sized environments. Master each set of level’s unique challenges and complete the final time trials to progress! Reach the end and purge your computer of its virus.

CORE GAMEPLAY

SHRINK AND SCALE

The player can change their size between two forms using a button (left shift on PC).  Upon activation the player will shrink into a smaller form, granting them faster movement and a higher jump, but only for a limited amount of time.  This timer will be indicated by a UI prompt, essentially acting as a stamina bar or a “breath” meter.

MASTERING MOVEMENT

As players progress through the game, they’ll come across unique obstacles for movement, such as bounce pads, surfaces that speed up or slow down the player, and even areas with inverted gravity.  These unique mechanics will be introduced gradually and spread out throughout the game via the level system.

DISCOVER ALL MECHANICS

Set will be 10 levels long, with the final level being a time trial. The Set system is how Reformidant introduces its new mechanics. In later sets, reintroducing previous mechanics/obstacles will allow for further complexity and create unlimited opportunities for engaging gameplay, allowing us to keep the player on guard.

REFORMIDANT

Reformidant is a 2D platformer all about size.  The player can move left and right on one plane, and jump (spacebar on PC) to navigate levels.  The player can change their size between two forms using a button (left shift on PC).  Upon activation the player will shrink into a smaller form, granting them faster movement and a higher jump, but only for a limited amount of time.  This timer will be indicated by a UI prompt, essentially acting as a stamina bar or a “breath” meter similar to games with underwater sections.  As players progress through the game, they’ll come across unique obstacles for movement, such as bounce pads, surfaces that speed up or slow down the player, and even areas with inverted gravity.  These unique mechanics will be introduced gradually and spread out throughout the game via the level system.
